The Killers
The Killers by Ernest Hemingway, Blocking Exercise, Graphic Novel, Collaboration with Mari Kochan(Film Grad Student, ACCD)/2007
Mari and I read the story ‘The Killers” by Ernest Hemingway and did blocking for a sequence of shots from the story. At first, we analyzed the story and selected a scene. Then we created our interpretation of the mise en scène, camera moves and angles, lighting, composition, and other elements. Each blocking step was illustrated by a detailed sequence of storyboards. An interesting addition to our analysis of the story was a layout of the same scene in the format of a Graphic Novel.
