Experimental Interventions [Mark your favorite things]
Social interaction experiments/In the Art Center Library/Collaboration with Christiane Holzheid, Julia Tsao, Ping Tsung Li/2009
'Mark you favorite things' is the last experiment we did in the Art Center Library. We wanted to keep the library as a site-specific area and tried to take advantage of the unique aspect of it. As soon as entering the library, there are placed a bunch of pink strips of paper and simple direction. So, participants can react it instinctively and simultaneously.
This was the very successful project when it comes to the responses we got from the people. pink strips were all around the library in diverse places and even outside of the library.

We could have got a lot of responses from individuals. Their favorite books, dvds, desks or chairs, and people etc in the library. What I learned from this project is people definitely liked to play and express their ideas. In addition, not making participants put a lot of time and efforts into the project is one of the important factor to make people engage and be a successful project.
